Technical Advocacy Seminar on Edible Oil Packaging Development for Preserving Fortified Vitamins, organized by the Consumers Association of Bangladesh (CAB) in collaboration with the National Heart Foundation of Bangladesh on 28 June 2026.

The program focused on strengthening edible oil fortification initiatives through improved packaging solutions to preserve fortified vitamins and ensure nutritional quality reaches consumers effectively. Representatives from relevant public and private sector stakeholders participated in discussions on food safety, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and sustainable fortification practices.

Food Engineers Association’s Secretary Engr. Khandker Raqibul Islam recommended introducing 8 kg and 16 kg coated tin packaging for edible oil to gradually replace plastic drums in the retail market.
The recommendation was presented as a sustainable packaging initiative aimed at improving product protection, supporting the preservation of fortified vitamins, enhancing food safety and quality, and reducing the environmental impact associated with plastic packaging in the edible oil supply chain.
